BIOL/EVRN414: Principles of ecology

Your standard undergraduate introduction to ecology. Familiarizes students with the major concepts. The course is organized around three themes:
- Ecology and evolution are two sides of the same coin. Evolution sets the stage for ecological interactions; ecology defines the selection that drives evolution.
- Ecology and human society shape each other, top to bottom.
- Ecology connects to many disciplines across the physical, life, and social sciences. Ecological ideas can be applied in whatever field draws a student’s primary interest.
Ecology is exciting because it interacts with so many other disciplines and applications!
